About the event
The Legacy Mentorship Program, in partnership with Chadwick & Chandler, is an incredible opportunity for students from North Carolina Central University (NCCU) and Duke University to engage in one-on-one mentorship with youth from the Durham community, ages 9-16.
Running from October 31st, 2023, to May 14th, 2024, this program offers a comprehensive range of activities and resources. Mentors from both universities will participate in weekly mentorship sessions with the youth, providing guidance and support in various areas.
The program includes tutoring sessions to assist with academic development, leadership development workshops to enhance skills, and monthly field trips and outings to expose the youth to new experiences and opportunities. Goal-setting sessions will help the youth define their aspirations and create a roadmap for success. Additionally, college tours will be arranged to give the youth a firsthand look at different campuses and educational pathways.
